Don't Be Led By Desperation

As we enter the year 2021, it is probably safe to assume you've began setting goals and looking forward to what's to come in the year ahead. I'm right there with you. The year 2020 served us a very bitter dish and it looks like that dish is going to spill over into the early parts of 2021.

As you look ahead to what's to come, I want to encourage you to stay strong and don't be led by desperation because as we all know, "desperate times call for desperate measures" and we are all feeling a little desperate for one thing or another. Don't let that desperation seep into your work space because once it does, you'll find yourself increasingly growing resentful and unfulfilled. That's where you're supposed to be when you're first setting out growing a business, but don't let it seep into the solid foundation you have built and upon which you now stand as a business owner and freelancer.

In order to avoid falling prey to desperation, consider building multiple streams of income instead so that even when one stream is low, the other will keep you from going over the edge. Having multiple streams of income makes it easier to say no to undesirable projects.
